Horizon Elliptical Reviews
I just bought a Horizon elliptical machine, and I had to share my personal experience and review of this wonderful machine with others who were looking for the perfect piece of fitness equipment to add to their home fitness collection, or heck just to start it.
Before purchasing the Horizon elliptical machine (read below how I got a great deal online), I had read numerous reviews of the entire Horizon elliptical line and could find no negative feedback or comparisons to other products that were superior.
So, I figured that the Horizon had to be a superior piece of equipment. I had been to stores ranging from department stores to second hand fitness equipment stores, and I had seen several lower end models of different brands, but when I would try them out, they proved to be unstable and very uncomfortable to work out on.
The one line of ellipticals that consistently stood out to me as being stable, comfortable, and nice to look at were the Horizons. I also thought the Schwinns looked and felt good too, but they seemed to be a little too high end in the price area for me.
I liked the Horizon ellipticals because they offered a wide range of models to fit different budgets, but didn’t vary widely on their quality. Although I will say this, I went with their middle of the road model and spent just over $1,000 and was very happy I didn’t get the lower end model, as it had smaller foot pads and also just didn’t ride as smoothly or nicely or feel as stable as the model I ended up purchasing.
I bought the Horizon E54. Here is my actual review of the product, and I will provide details on the product as well. I ended up getting this product through Amazon’s special pricing, and recieved free shipping, which I was very pleased with, especially since most stores would charge at least $80 for the shipping, so this was a great deal!
I threw in an excercise equipment pad, and that’s why I got the free shipping. By the way, you will absolutely need the pad if you don’t want to ruin your floor. The pad also provides a lot more stability and a lot smoother of a ride, so for comfort’s sake alone, you should not consider doing without the pad.
Ok, here goes my Horizon Elliptical Review!
What I love about this machine is that it is sturdy. It looks like an elliptical that I would see in a gym. The display panel is very professional looking and has a backlit screen that is easy to read. It also has a built in heart rate monitor that you can easily take advantage of by placing your hands on the front handle bars.
I wanted an elliptical with moving arms, and this had them. It provides additional fitness in that it works your arms out in addition to working out your lower body. You’re getting more bang for your buck because you’re working out two body parts in one machine.
Ladies, if you’re concerned about flabby underarms, this machine is excellent for that. I’ve noticed it’s trimmed the fat under my arms immensely and toned that muscle there too, creating a nice, longer and leaner look to my arms.
The foot pads where my foot rests are very large and have great grippers, so my feet never slide around, and I don’t feel as though my feet will fall off because of the generous sizing of the foot plate.
The Horizon elliptical moves very fluidly, making for an exceptional ride, and also providing a great, low impact workout that does not leave you with sore joints and a roughed up body. You will also notice that this elliptical tends to build lean, long muscle because of it’s fluid movement. And that doesn’t mean you’re burning any less calories, you’re just working out “smarter”.
The machine was pretty easy to assemble. It came with concise instructions and could easily be assembled in an hour or under. If you’re especially adept at assembling things, it’ll be under an hour.
The machine is just a great investment. It is quiet, gives a great workout, is very comfortable to work out on, and looks like a professional grade piece of gym equipment. You will not be disappointed in a Horizon elliptical machine. It’s truly a great benefit to those that are fitness conscious and also want a great piece of equipment that will laster a long, long time.
